Welcome to the Biotechnology Young Entrepreneurs Scheme
The Biotechnology Young Entrepreneurs Scheme (Biotechnology YES) is an innovative competition developed to raise awareness of the commercialisation of bioscience ideas among early career researchers.
The competition is funded by sponsorship and aims to encourage an entrepreneurial culture in the UK bioscience postgraduate and postdoctoral base for the benefit of the UK economy.
The Biotechnology YES competition also encompasses different themed workshops such as the BioMedical YES, Chemistry YES, Food YES and Plant, Microbial and Environment.
Biotechnology YES is organised jointly by The University of Nottingham’s Haydn Green Institute for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (HGI) and the Innovation and Skills Group at Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council (BBSRC).
- The Saltire Fellowship is a world-class, 8 month long programme that equips the Fellow with the skills and attitude required to take a leadership role within Scottish business.
- ON Helix is a one day event aimed at informing delegates of how to turn early stage inventions and ideas into innovative health treatments (new medicines, novel biomarkers, useful medical devices or improved medical practices). It will present the UK landscape of the business environment, funding, scientific and clinical research excellence and will be a unique knowledge-sharing environment between academia and business.
